Ben Hogan August 13, 1912 – July 25, 1997
Considered one of the greatest players in the history of golf, Ben Hogan is a true American legend. Winning 63 professional golf tournaments between 1938 and 1959, in spite of the outbreak of World War II and a near fatal car accident in February of 1949, he was not only an unprecedented player but a conqueror. Coming back in the year 1953 to win the “Hogan Slam” (a consecutive win at the Masters, the U.S. Open and the British Open) his prestige lives on to this day. Widely acknowledged to have been the best ball striker ever, Ben Hogan was, truly, one of a kind.
JanKris Vineyards is pleased to commemorate the triumph of this celebrated individual by bringing you two exclusive s eries of Ben Hogan wines. The first is our artistic TRIBUTE SERIES, which includes 5 varietals of Ben Hogan wine; Cabernet Sauvignon, Carnoustie (a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah, 25% Merlot), Chardonnay, Merlot, and Zinfandel. Under the direction of world renowned winemaker, Chris Cameron, these artisan wines have been handcrafted for sheer enjoyment.
Additionally, we are proud to introduce our elite COLLECTOR SERIES limited edition, individually numbered, gold-foiled wine sets displayed in beautiful boxes, complete with a certificate of authenticity. Each of the 5 varietals displays a different, timeless photograph of Mr. Hogan by Jules Alexander and a prominent quote from the renowned golfer on the reverse label. These are limited production items, and are being offered in a 2 bottle set, a 3 bottle set and a commemorative box containing all 5 varietals. Every bottle has been masterfully designed in intricate detail.
Both Series have extremely limited quantities.
