2009 Accolades - A summary
December 01, 2009
2009 was a dynamic year for JanKris wines with incredible growth, against industry trends, and quite a few new faces to the team to help accomplish this. We only entered a select few wines into 3 wine competitions and had great success as summarized below.
JanKris Sauvignon Blanc Silver - 2009 JanKris Divinity Silver - 2009 84 pts - Wine Enthusiast
JanKris 2006 Divinity, Heavenly White Wine Blend (Paso Robles) A blend of Chardonnay and Viognier, this dry, crisp white shows the peach and pineapple flavors of the former, and the floral spiciness of the latter. -S.H. ( JanKris Cabernet Sauvignon Silver - 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 86 pts - Wine Enthusiast
JanKris 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles) Bone dry and robust, this affordable Cab has refined tannins framing flavors of black currants, blackberries and plums, with layers of spice, smoke and cedar. Good buy for the quality. - S.H. ( JanKris Crossfire Silver - 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 85pts - Wine Enthusiast JanKris is located in the cooler, westside Templeton Gap area of Paso Robles, and their wines are moderately priced. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot is very fruity, with ripe blackberry, cherry, pomegranate, cocoa, tobacco and coffee flavors that finish softly dry. There’s something about the long, rich aftertaste that makes this balanced wine especially impressive, and at this price, it’s a great house red. - S.H. ( Ben Hogan Tribute Carnoustie 90 pts - Wine Enthusiast 2009 October Issue
Ben Hogan Tribute Chardonnay Silver - 2009 Silver – 2009
